An improved, multilingual Visual Basic Upgrade Companion officially ships with support for Microsoft's latest technologies

Chesterfield, MO. - June 7, 2010 - ArtinSoft Corporation announced today the official release of the Visual Basic Upgrade Companion (VBUC) v4.0, the latest version of the flagship tool that takes Visual Basic 6.0 applications and converts them to both native VB .NET and C#. After a successful open beta program where users were able to download a full-featured trial and submit feedback, the final version shipped with loads of new features and enhancements that increase productivity on conversion projects even further.

This new edition of the VBUC creates solutions and projects that are fully compatible with Visual Studio 2010, allowing customers to use Microsoft's latest development environment to further enhance their code. Also, it introduces a brand new mapping mechanism, through which it is now possible to migrate the most commonly used ActiveX grids to their .NET equivalents. The VBUC 4.0 also brings a series of predefined migration profiles, and will be able to display all the information to the user (interface, EWIs, log info, command line, etc) in several languages beside English, such as German and Japanese.

Now that the Upgrade Wizard no longer ships with Visual Studio 2010, the VBUC provides a more powerful and flexible alternative to upgrade applications to .NET, generating more readable code that allows taking advantage of the latest technology and streamlining the development process. “The best way to combat obsolescence and to comply with industry regulations is to ensure that applications are built using technologies like the .NET Framework.
