Renowned Microsoft Professional Rick LaPlante Joins ArtinSoft Research Team

San José, Costa Rica. Highly respected software professional Rick LaPlante, recently retired from Microsoft, has joined the ArtinSoft team as board member and research collaborator. Mr. LaPlante, who has extensive experience in the IT industry, is widely known for his contributions both in and outside of Microsoft in the software development field.

Throughout his career, Mr. LaPlante has enjoyed noteworthy success; he joined Microsoft in 1988, where he held a variety of positions including Software Design Engineer and Group Program Manager for the C++ compiler product line, Development Manager of Microsoft's Internal Tools engineering team, and Director of Business Development for the company's Developer and .NET platform lines of business.

At Microsoft, he was responsible for overseeing the business, partner, go-to-market, and product strategies for the Team System, and led the engineering team in the delivery of these enterprise-ready software tools around the world, enabling customers to build global-class applications on top of Windows and the .NET Framework.

Mr. LaPlante has written and lectured extensively on topics such as software development lifecycles and Visual Studio .NET, and constantly shares his knowledge through his personal blog. As an ArtinSoft research team member, Mr. LaPlante will share his vast expertise in the development of new applications of ArtinSoft's core Freedom r technology.
