San José, Costa Rica -June 1, 2006- As part of its special weekly publication on current technology and business issues, Costa Rica's most respected business daily, La República, published a feature article on two successful Costa Rican software companies that have been able to achieve success by exporting their products and services abroad: ArtinSoft and Avantica. The article, entitled "Global Champions," cites ArtinSoft's evolution from a small Costa Rican software company into a global leader in the international technology market.

The article mentions that ArtinSoft has been successful in positioning its software migration solutions globally because of the quality of its products and services it provides. "Our success is due to the.high added value for clients. Perseverance has been a key characteristic of our success," stated Federico Zoufaly, Vice President of Business Development at ArtinSoft.

According to the article, the business growth that ArtinSoft has enjoyed is a model to be emulated by other IT companies both in and out of Costa Rica who wish to export their products and services successfully in highly competitive markets in the United States and Europe. "ArtinSoft has offices in the United States," mentions the article, "which provides a solid platform to do business" with the rest of the world.

The author consulted Zoufaly for advice on how to successfully tackle the international IT market. According to Zoufaly -and as highlighted in the article- three things are key for a software company to succeed in foreign markets: first, it is necessary to first "determine if your product and/or solution offers clients in specific countries added value," second, it is important to "create local business partners and forge strategic alliances," and finally, patience is key.
