ArtinSoft, the leading provider of computer aided software transformation solutionsTM, today announced two additional consulting service offerings that will allow customers to convert Java-based applications to the Microsoft .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET 2003. ArtinSoft’s customers can choose from: 1) a thorough analysis and diagnosis resulting in a recommendation as to the best method to cost-effectively and time-efficiently convert to the .NET Framework, or 2) a full conversion of an application to the .NET Framework, providing customers with a turnkey solution by ArtinSoft Consulting Services’ expert support. ArtinSoft’s new consulting service offerings are designed to convert applications written in Visual J++ 6.0-to-Visual Studio .NET 2003, Java Server Pages (JSP)-to-ASP.NET, Java-to-Visual C# .NET or Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)-to-Visual Studio .NET 2003 and the .NET Framework.
“Microsoft is committed to working with the world’s leading solution providers. As demonstrated in the past through its development of the Visual Basic Upgrade Wizard included in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, ArtinSoft has proven to be a leader in helping customers migrate to the .NET Framework,” said John Montgomery, director for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp.
ArtinSoft’s Java-to-.NET Framework service offerings are the only existing service solutions that convert an application from a Java-based environment to the .NET Framework. Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 .NET includes a conversion capability moving applications from Visual J++ to Visual C# .NET. ArtinSoft is the only existing computer-aided software transformation solution provider immediately offering solutions to convert JSP to ASP.NET, Java to Visual C# .NET and J2EE to Visual Studio .NET 2003 and the .NET Framework.
Service Options Explained
After three days of manual and technological application analysis and diagnosis; five days of research, testing and reports addressing typical challenges developers might encounter in the conversion; and one day of report presentation and discussion, customers will be ready to convert their application in the most cost- and time-efficient manner.
Alternatively, customers can choose to receive expert guidance from ArtinSoft engineers, who will work closely with the customer’s development team throughout the entire conversion process until the project is complete. Coupling ArtinSoft’s understanding of Java and the .NET Framework with ArtinSoft’s Freedom® technology, an automatic conversion technology, customers choosing this second option are left with a fully transformed application that is entirely functional in the .NET Framework.
Maritz Travel Company, the global leader in meeting, event and incentive travel management handles the event registration for many FORTUNE 100 companies including Microsoft Corporation. Maritz selected ArtinSoft to assist in the migration of an events registration Website from J2EE to Visual C# .NET. Working with Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) and G.A. Sullivan, ArtinSoft migrated the critical Hotel Registration module to the Microsoft .NET Framework while retaining the look and feel of the application. According to Scott Loos, Maritz’ Director of Internet Development, “ArtinSoft’s engineers were very professional, and the migrated code integrated seamlessly with our code base. The migration to the Microsoft .NET Framework provided us with increased scalability and easier deployment”
“Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and the J2EE architecture represent the leading technologies for developing highly scalable enterprise applications,” explains Dr. Carlos Araya, CEO of ArtinSoft. “The .NET Framework has a number of advantages that appeal to companies with Java-based applications trying to increase their productivity, performance, extensibility and reduce their operating and development costs. ArtinSoft’s new Java-to-.NET Framework service offerings provide a clear path for customers to make the crucial step of developing XML Web services easier than ever.”
Both service offerings are available immediately in North America, Latin America and Europe from ArtinSoft.
